[Book Review] Gracefully Grayson.
Gracefully heartwarming. Disclaimer: Before I go into this review, keep in mind that since I’m transgender, this review may be subject to bias. Gracefully Grayson is a book about a transgender kid exploring their gender and finding the courage to be who they are. It includes just about everything a kid such as Grayson would experience while in school: bullying, difficulty with parents/guardians, unnecessary intervention by others, trying new clothes out, finding who you are, etc. I can happily say that the book explores all of these aspects and it’s fabulously written. I can’t remember the last time I’ve ever read a book that made me want to read it again right away. I freaking love this Gracefully Grayson! Of course it’s very easy to relate to since it was like reading my life in someone else’s words. I don’t just feel like I am in Grayson’s shoes just because she is…
VN Reviews: “Lynne”, “The Waters Above: Prelude”, and “The Average Everyday Adventures of Samantha Browne”.
Lynne It makes me wish I was reading something else. I really love the retro aesthetic Lynne has going for it. The art style really does it justice and makes it appealing to look at. The music also plays on your nostalgia. It’s not great by any means, but good nonetheless. But unfortunately that’s where the positives end. The story feels like it is lost in its own limbo. I can see where the visual novel is trying to go. It’s trying to capture what it likes to be a teenage girl that’s dealing with her daily struggles. But as a girl myself, I think it only captured a fraction of what it likes to be a teenage girl dealing with troubles, and…
OpenCanvas 7 [Review]: A superior “Paint Tool SAI”.
As a webcomic artist and illustrator, it’s perfect for me. But… …it does come with significant downsides which I will discuss further in my points below. I’m going to try to be as informative as possible, so if you want to make a purchasing decision for OpenCanvas 7, I’m your girl. Please note: I’ll be making comparisons to Clip Studio Paint, Paint Tool SAI and Photoshop. I will be reviewing the Steam version of OpenCanvas 7. Pros: Lightweight at 60mb. It loads very fast compared to the likes of Photoshop which takes forever. Black theme is easy on the eyes, especially in the dark if you’re a night owl artist. It’s pretty customizable too, allowing you to re-arrange the windows however you like. I recommend checking my guide to setting up your own personal workspace if needed. Simple UI that’s quite easy to understand. Since the program is similar to…
