The luckiest ones at E3 were Switch owners.   Not going to lie, I went into E3 thinking Nintendo wouldn’t have much to show. After my disappointment with the Wii U, I’ve learned to always approach these Directs with cautious scepticism And it’s not like Nintendo has been making good decisions lately either, so them winning E3 was far from the realm of possibility in my mind. But oh wow, was I ever proved wrong.   There were so many games! AND I MEAN MANY! Just when you thought the announcements and trailers would stop, it just kept going and going! Nintendo was really in a league of their own.     Here’s the quick list of announcements that I didn’t really care much for: Dragon Quest Characters coming to Smash Bros Ultimate. More Dragon Quest games coming to Switch. Luigi’s Mansion 3 (It’s getting co-op). Jin Henson’s The Dark…

This is going to end so well.   So something that almost slipped by me at E3 is that Shenmue III, after many years of fans clamouring for it since Shenmue II’s positive reception, is going to be an Epic Store Exclusive on PC. Hoorah!!   What? No hoorah?   Oh riiight, the Epic Store is infamous in the gaming community right now, isn’t it? Not just for being a laughably featureless store launcher, but also for Epic Games deciding to use their Tencent money to smuggle as many exclusives into their pitiful excuse of a store that doesn’t even have a goddamn shopping cart.   But honestly, I’m actually surprised by this development. I really didn’t think that Deep Silver (the publisher) and Ys Net (the developer) had the bloody audacity to put Shenmue III as an Epic Store exclusive, knowing full that this has been a game that…

Watch Dogs Legion doesn’t fill me with much hope.   Out of the all of Ubisoft’s E3 Press conference, there was only one thing that caught my mention (well, besides Gods and Monsters): The announcement of Watch Dogs Legions, the next game in the Watch Dogs franchise.   And on a quick note, yes, Ubisoft’s E3 Press Conference was pretty disappointing, or at least to me. That’s coming from someone who adores most of Ubisoft’s franchises other than those of Nintendo and Capcom. Most of the Ubisoft press conference contained Tom Clancy games such as Ghost Recon Breakpoint, The Division 2 and Rainbow Six Quarantine. Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of Tom Clancy’s games so I’ll pass on those, especially since they’ve become more multiplayer focused as of late.   Then there was also other stuff that was just add-ons to already existing content like For Honour. Uplay is going…

Respawn’s new Star Wars game is helping clean EA’s murky reputation with gamers.   While I wasn’t aware of this at all, there was an EA Play event where they showed gameplay from the upcoming Stars Wars game: Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order. And I’ll admit, it does look like it’s going to be a pretty remarkable game.      When I saw the trailer for the game back in April, I was genuinely excited. After the controversies of the last two Battlefront games from EA, gamers had lost all hope that EA could do right by the Star Wars brand, so much so that many were hoping Disney would swoop in to sever their contract with EA after the loot box backlash. That didn’t happen, and in a surprising twist of events, Disney was mindbogglingly happy with EA’s treatment of the franchise.   I can only speculate that…
