Chapter 14: “Beyond Death”.

Chante slowly opened her eyes.

At first, it seemed as though she was laying on the ground, but what laid underneath Chante was just the dark void of space, accompanied by the billions of stars that glittered the Milky Way galaxy. It was as though she was suspended in midair by a tangible and invisible barrier beneath her.

Chante jumped from where she laid in sudden realisation. She stood on her feet and began to assess the area around her. She was most definitely afloat in space, with nothing else but the countless, yet mesmerising stars to give her company.

“Am I…dead?”, Chante asked herself.

She looked at her hands and then her body. Her clothes weren’t torn in the slightest, even though her fight with Ava left them very visibly damaged and tattered. Even her wounds were completely healed.

Usually, her healing factor as a fuser demi-human took some time to regenerate any part of her body, which begged the question: How long was she unconscious? Sasha didn’t even have any time to heal her before…

“Oh no! Sasha and Emilia!”, exclaimed Chante. She looked in every direction of her. “Sasha! Emilia! Are you there?!”

No one responded but the almost deafening silence of space. Chante started to run to see if she could get out of the apparent limbo.

No luck.

It was as though she wasn’t moving at all. Her efforts were in vain. The sudden reality of it all started to weigh onto Chante’s psyche.

“This can’t be it.” hopelessness seeped from Chante’s voice, “This can’t be how I die.”

No. I can’t die. I still haven’t fulfilled…my promise.

“Worry not”, a voice suddenly came from behind Chante in the dark void. “You will have plenty of time to get it done.”

Chante turned around to see a woman standing in the darkness of space with her. However, this wasn’t just any woman. Chante recognised the person who stood before her.

“You…”, Chante’s voice started to crack with tearful emotion.

“It’s good to see you again”, the lady welcomed, “I’ve missed you too, Chante.”

I’m really sorry if the cliffhanger in this chapter was a bit much. The mysterious woman and Chante will play a vital role in how Emilia develops in the second arc, so please bear with me :3

With regards to Athena as the story’s antagonist, please keep in mind that she is intentionally created to be detested. I’ve emphasized her traits to highlight her dictator and psychopathic persona. In Chapter 13, I put a warning because her actions are bound to trigger some persons. I don’t want to censor my writing, as the awful things T.U.R.F does is intended to give you, the reader, their immoral perspective in the book.

The inspiration for T.E.R.F War came to me after dealing with some transphobia myself. In a way, it’s a bit of a vent for what trans people face, even in the LGBT community.

T.E.R.F War – Part 2 will take some time to finish as I’ve only recently begun writing it. I think I’ll start publishing chapters again in either August or September. I do plan on selling the complete saga of this book in the future, but for now, I’ll just leave it exclusively on my website for everyone to read.
